Why LeaseMisSelling Exisits
LeaseMisSelling began with a single business finance arrangement.
We were targeted by this commercial model, so rather than pay and move on, we investigated. What we found was not an isolated incident.
This platform is the result.
Why LeaseMisSelling exists
One experience to a wider investigation
What initially appeared to be an individual commercial dispute raised a much broader question.
Had other UK businesses experienced the same thing?
Further investigation identified reports involving similar characteristics: supplier promises, separate finance agreements and businesses left responsible for lease payments after the original commercial arrangement broke down.
LeaseMisSelling was created to investigate that pattern systematically.
It provides somewhere for affected businesses to register what happened, submit relevant information and contribute to a structured evidence base.
An evidence-led investigation
Our role is to establish facts.
We are collecting and analysing reported experiences alongside agreements, correspondence, regulatory findings and other relevant documentation to understand how these arrangements were presented and how frequently similar characteristics appear.
Where appropriate, the resulting evidence may help inform regulatory and parliamentary scrutiny.
We will distinguish clearly between reported experiences, documented findings and published evidence.
We will not publish allegations as fact where the available evidence does not support them.
